Alistair M. Hawkes, LPC
Alistair Hawkes, MA, LPC specializes in helping others develop and demonstrate stress mastery practices that help us evolve beyond anxiety, worry, PTSD, trauma, and depression. I was raised with the understanding of the body/mind connection, and through the influence of early biofeedback education and training (since age 12), I developed some useful self-regulation skills and tools that I now teach to clients in my Empowerment Psychotherapy: Pathways to Wholeness practice. I enjoy working with people of all ages, and I appreciate collaborating with educators, families, and adults in a variety of community settings. Although I am trained in traditional clinical and somatic psychology and I draw from over 25 years of study in subtle energies and energy medicine, I have been deeply influenced by many spiritual traditions such as Christianity, Native American culture and ceremonies, Hinduism, and Buddhism and I currently use the tools of Breathwork and the HIKE4evolution system to help clients empower themselves and level-up their lives.
I have a Master of Arts degree from Naropa University (2009), an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) credential from the State of Colorado, and I have extensive education in mindfulness, in subtle energies and energy medicine academics, and consciousness studies. I am a Certified Clarity Breathwork practitioner, as well as a HIKE4Evolution Neurofeedback and Stress Response Mastery educator, and a member of the International Breathwork Foundation. I have walked the Red Road since 1998, have been a Hatha Yoga teacher since 2006, and use my inner compass to guide me in working with students and clients. Since 2015 I have taught over 2,500 elementary school classes (more than 1,200 classroom hours) to 2,000 students and teachers, I served on the Jefferson Center for Mental Health Speaker’s Bureau 2016-2019, and have given many mental health-focused talks at numerous public schools, churches, and community events. Services I offer to students and clients are active, and advanced skill-building practices which are joyfully taught to people at all levels who have a true desire to grow and change and will put efforts towards using the tools provided.
Among other things, I enjoy hiking in nature, travel, family adventures, gardening, reading, singing and dancing.
